I'm afraid to send my children to school. Not because of the teachers or staff, but because of the children who now believe that they can get away with anything. All Mrs. Montalvo's nonsense has caused is a self proclaimed right among the unruly students. These students should be able to disrupt class. Hamper their fellow classmates learning, run in the hallways, talk back to the teachers, refuse to follow the rules, because if anyone should try to discipline them, their mommy's going to have them arrested. Unbelievable.
Here's a scenario for you Mrs Montalvo. Say my child had come home during the second week of school and told me they had their name written on the board 5 times, I would be 1st embarrassed and 2nd pretty angry at my child. How about you? And then if that child told me that when the teacher asked them to go to the principals office, that they told the teacher NO and that the teacher had to grab them by the arm to get them up and out of the class. Well, let's just say that my reaction to this would not have been pretty. I'm sorry, but that child would be in more trouble with me than they would be with the school. So Mrs. Montalvo, is that behavior okay? Is the teacher allowed to grab the disrespectful child by the arm to escort them out of the room or not?
Are they to call security to come and escort the child? And if he says no to the security officer, then what do they do? Call the police to escort the boy to the principals office. And what if he tells the policeman no? What do they do then? Let the boy sit there because no one is to take him by the arm and help him up? Meanwhile the other twenty some odd kids in the class have missed very valuable instruction time because the boy refuses to listen. When did we stop instilling values into our children?
I've known Mrs. Boodoo a long time, first as a neighbor and then as a teacher at my children's school. She is an upstanding citizen and wonderful teacher by all accounts. She is strict. But there is difference between being strict and being abusive. She has taught many generations at ECS and doesn't deserve this. Oh and Mrs. Montalvo, you might want to look the word SLANDER up in the dictionary. I think it's a word that might come back and bite ya in the butt.

Manuela Michailescu Says "Thanks"
I'd like to thank all those who voted for me on Primary Day. From a candidate not endorsed by my own party, people made me the highest vote-getter in the Town of Rochester, and the second vote-getter in District 1.
Voters in Marbletown, Rochester and Wawarsing have now a choice in November. There are no longer only 4 Legislator candidates for 4 seats. Together, we restored people's right to choose when they vote!
I had the will and determination to fight for a fundamental democratic principle. The people listened, and trusted me that – once elected – I would fight for them too.
Many told me that, by earning my place on the ballot the democratic way, I won already. In fact, I'm just half-way. My chances are slim, but voters can make a difference again. Please continue to support my candidacy and help in any way you can.
Thank you for your trust. Thank you for your help. Thank you for your vote.
Manuela Michailescu
Town of Rochester Councilwoman, District 1 Legislator Candidate
Ulster County Needs Terry Bernardo
"Terry Bernardo, Ulster County District 1 Legislator." That should be the goal of every voter in Wawarsing, Rochester, and Marbletown on November 3rd. Terry has the background that we all need in Ulster County. She understands the problems small businesses, property owners and taxpayers have facing them in this austere economy. Terry is approachable and willing to listen to the concerns of the voters in her district and the county. Terry's active participation in community and involvement in the Chamber of Commerce shows that she is willing to work for the betterment of Ulster County and the local towns she will represent.
Terry's cross endorsement with the Democratic party and Independence party shows that they know she can cross the isle and get the right legislation done as a nonpartisan partner. Ulster County taxpayers need her values and willingness to work for the betterment of our county and towns. Anyone who questions her ethics or motivation has never heard her speak of the vision she has for Ulster County as a place to grow families in a safe, productive environment.
