BULLVILLE – Someone killed four pit bulls on October 7 and dumped their bodies in a dumpster on Route 17K, just east of Route 302.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was alerted by an anonymous caller and they contacted the Town of Crawford Police.
The police have begun investigating, but have yet to make an arrest.
"Animal abusers are cowards," says PETA Manager Martin Mersereau. "They take their issues out on the most defenseless beings available to them. Area residents have good reason to be concerned. According to law enforcement agencies and leading mental health professionals, perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat to all animals — including humans."
Anyone with information about this case should call the Town of Crawford Police at 845-744-3300.
