Ellenville Regional Hospital Is Outstanding
This letter is slightly overdue and I apologize but I would like to take a moment of your time and express my gratitude and appreciation from the hospital staff while being a patient in your hospital.
On December 8th 2009 I was admitted to Ellenville Regional Hospital as a patient of Dr. L. Grovenburg with some serious problems of water retention due to improper heart beating. While being in the hospital your nurses, their assistants, and everyone else who was part of that staff showed the most concern and care that was outstanding. My special thanks goes to the nurses who took care of me with some names such as Martha, Harriet, MaryBeth, Angie, Heather and all the nurses assistants and other staff members which I am sure I missed their names. They provided outstanding patient care which is rare and you only see with people who are totally dedicated to their profession. I am truly grateful to all of them for saving my life.
My special thanks also goes to Manager of Nursing - Cathy Smith she was so worried and concerned about my condition. Needless to say my profound gratitude to Dr. Kurt & Dr. Lucinda Grovenburg for their care, patience and understanding for my concerns and for basically bringing me back to life. They also secured a wonderful cardiologist - Dr. Saeeda Mahmud for my future continued care. They are the best. Additional "thank you" goes to the kitchen staff for their excellent and delicious meals and to all the people who keep the hospital so clean. You have a fantastic staff, their professional dedication is compared to none, absolutely great and hopefully they will be recognized for their phenomenal work. Also, my "thank you" for making it possible for my husband to visit me at any time. It was a great comfort me.
My congratulations to you for making this hospital the way it is today. I hope that you will continue to succeed in its growth. We need a care facility -which does not mean it has to be as large as hospitals in Albany or Westchester- but somewhere in between where Medical Staff can provide a Patient with outstanding care and compassion at the same time.
Wishing you a Very Happy, Prosperous and Successful New Year.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of...
As a former employee of the Nevele in the early 90's, it's sad to say goodbye. I had lived in the Catskills, and worked just about every leftover hotel since 1980. I've seen them mismanaged, decay and even close. To this day it pains me to know the probable fate of one of the last greats.
We've all been there before, broken promises and faded dreams. For the people of Ellenville, for the "possible" new owners, All my very best. The reasons I left that area and N.Y. in general, is the reality of yesterday will never repeat itself. Look at Grossingers and the Concord.
