My fellow seniors and all Americans, it looks like the American people have finally awoke and have said enough is enough. The people of Massachusetts, which has been a Democratic state for decades, have said that they are tired of what the Obama administration, Democratic Senate, and Congress has done in trying to revamp the entire health care system. They have shown the administration with their votes that it is not acceptable. Health care in the form that they were trying to shove down our throats is dead. Thank God for that, as all it would have done was take away the best health care system in the world and give us rationed health care like they have in Canada, England, and France. It would raise taxes by billions of dollars, and raise the cost of our health care.

We Americans want this big spending to stop. We don't want big government. We want our politicians to focus on the economy. We are all aware that health care has some problems, but you don't change the entire wheel when only a couple of spokes are broken. It is time that both Democrats and Republicans work together to get a health care bill that will cover all Americans without bankrupting the country. It can be done, but you must take your time and don't try to pay for it by taking $500 billion from Medicare. Remember, about 85 percent of Americans already have health insurance and they are very happy with what they have. What both parties should do is bring together the doctors, hospital administrators, pharmaceutical companies, nursing home administrators, and insurance companies, and work with them to get ideas on how to give all Americans good health care without bankrupting America. These meetings should all be open to the American people and not held behind closed doors. Health care should not be run by the government.

Before our politicians start reworking health care, their top priority should be putting back to work the 17 million people who have lost their jobs. To jump start our economy we must consider lowering corporate taxes, doing away with withholding taxes from the worker for one year in order to put more money in their pockets. By doing this it would give the people more money to spend and give business more money to invest and expand. With business expanding, they then would be able to hire new people. In one year this administration has increased our deficit by more than $3 trillion. This is truly unconscionable. Our politicians, both Republicans and Democrats, should heed the voice of the American people and do the right thing for our country.

President Obama should change his thinking and move more to the center because if he continues his ways as a far left president he can be assured that he will be a one-term president. He has to start by dumping Cap & Trade, as this would create a disaster for more jobs lost. He has to start ridding this country from dependency on foreign oil and start building atomic plants, drill off-shore for oil, explore for gas, and create clean coal. We have plenty of these commodities in our country and we should start taking advantage of that. We pay billions of dollars for oil to countries that hate our guts.

As for global warming, Florida had 28 degrees for almost two weeks. Some parts of Texas that never saw snow had snow and many other states had one, two, or three feet of snow. This is just another way of draining the United States and its people of billions of dollars. Some scientists fudged the records trying to make global warming an absolute reality. Al Gore who has been instrumental in pushing this matter has made millions of dollars. He has been asked to debate this subject and has refused to do so because he cannot truly substantiate his findings. He is paid to lecture his misinformation and will not allow anyone to question him unless they agree with his findings.

I wish to respond to a few points to an Opinion article dated December 17, 2009. ("CHECKING THE FACTS"). The individual that wrote the article sang the praises of a devout communist by the name of Van Jones. It seems the incident of his arrest deepened his disaffection with the system and accelerated his political radicalization. He became involved in an organization by the name of STORM. This is a group committed to revolutionary Marxist politics. He believed in Third World Communism. Our president appointed this man to his administration.

My question is, who the hell vetted this communist, and do we want this type of individual in our government? It seems that Obama has surrounded himself with radicals, Marxists and Communists. On the White House Christmas Tree, they hung an ornament with the face of Mao Tse Tung. This communist killed many more people than Adolf Hitler. What is this administration thinking? If Obama continues his radical thinking he should be voted out in 2012. Is this why our young men and women are in harm's way fighting for our freedom? Give me a break.
