The Power of One

Your Vote Determines the Village's Financial Future

ELLENVILLE – The referendum to withdraw roughly $1 million from the Mountain Money, a $4 million special reserve fund the village acquired after a 1996 sale of 4,000 acres of the Sam's Point Dwarf Pine Ridge Preserve to the Open Space Institute, is scheduled for Friday, March 26. The vote is required for the village government to use that money to plug a financial hole that's been plaguing them for the past two years.

The referendum's passage or failure will have two very distinct outcomes for the village, and as such, it's important to know how the municipality got to this point.
