Teen Tragedy on Route 52

WAWARSING - A Pine Bush teenager was killed, and another Pine Bush resident seriously injured, in a head-on collision on Route 52 this past Thursday afternoon. Justin M. Helms, an eighteen-year-old, was driving westbound at approximately 2:50 p.m., when his Honda Civic crossed over the double-yellow line into oncoming traffic. Mark D. Vail, who was driving eastbound in a Ford Econoline Van, attempted to avoid Helms by swerving into the westbound lane. Unfortunately, Helms reacted by steering back into the westbound lane himself, and the two vehicles hit head-on.   > MORE

Wolff Meets with Nevele Employees

ELLENVILLE – Mitchell Wolff, now the sole owner of the Nevele Grande Resort, last week apologized to former employees of the hotel for the way previous owner Joel Hoffman had treated them. Wolff apologized as well as to the residents of the Village of Ellenville for the disingenuous manner in which his former partner had behaved. Several weeks ago, the courts stripped Hoffman of his ownership of the resort, placing control of the facility into the hands of Wolff.

"I really want to apologize to the town and the people who live here," Wolff was quoted as saying. "But, most importantly, I want to apologize to you all. You're hardworking people and you didn't deserve this."   > MORE
