REGIONAL – With the ridge area still sweltering under oppressive heat, and with no relief in sight until sometime toward the end of the week, officials at both the local and county level are warning residents to take it easy, and to avoid prolonged exposure to the high temperatures.

Ellenville Police Chief Phil Mattracion says that there have yet to be any major heat-related incidents in the village, but that the department has briefed personnel about the situation and that officers are available should any needs arise.  > MORE
