ELLENVILLE – In last week's edition of the Journal, a front-page story described an incident on Warren Street in which a local family had a violent encounter with Ellenville Police. Now the family involved has come forward to file a complaint alleging police brutality, with the mother involved, along with her husband and two kids, saying that the police overreacted and behaved unprofessionally.
The incident began when Jose Negron, Jr., of 28 Warren Street was stopped for a loud muffler and a burnt-out headlight on the evening of Monday, August 9. The officer who pulled over Negron then issued a citation to Negron. > MORE
