PINE BUSH – On April 30, 2011, all things alien and extra-terrestrial will be getting their day in the sun, when Pine Bush finally gets down to celebrating its unique history as a center of UFO sightings.

Activities of all kinds will be going on, leading up to the UFO Festival Parade, which will kick off at 2 p.m.

Serious students of the UFO phenomena will be convening at the Town Government Center on Route 302, to hear speakers discuss some of the many topics that UFOs have spawned over the years. That will be going on all day, from 9 a.m. onwards.

At the Mitchell Performing Arts Center, 86 Main Street, the Student UFO Art Show will be on display from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For the young at heart in this ancient universe, the Plaza, at 61 Main Street, is the place to check out, for fun activities like Slime the Alien, face painting and having a photo with an alien. No information available on exactly which kinds of aliens will be available. Approach at your own risk and discretion.

There'll also be a bounce house going, with more face painting at Zanetti's Insurance Agency, 20 Boniface Drive.

Once everyone is painted suitably, and equipped with the appropriate t-shirts, hats and anti-gravity generators, the parade will wend down Main Street to Boniface Drive, and thence to the car park at the Cup 'n' Saucer, Pine Bush's iconic diner, for music and fun, until the mother ship arrives to collect everyone for the ride to Alpha Centaurus.
