Christmas? Check. New Year’s Eve? Check. Now what? Well, with all the gifts that you’ve gotten, and the ugly sweaters you probably received, I have a few ideas.

First, you’ll want to take a bunch of ugly sweater photos with your family while trying to out-flex each other. Second, get out all the leftovers that you have still around from the festive feasts during the holidays. Third, eat those leftovers.

Next, you want to see if you can still do some crazy things with the gifts you were given. Got Nerf guns? Make your house a battlefield. Got the newest beauty products? Make your dinner table a salon, and include the men in your family if you can. They could use a makeover.

Got whatever? Do whatever. Have as much fun as you can with kids, without kids. With adults, without adults.

And finally, it’s back to school, kids. Sorry. Parents don’t take this time for granted. Now is time for your time. You got a fresh bottle of Chardonnay? Drink it while watching your favorite movie or show. A new bottle of brandy? Drink it with friends, or keep it to yourself. Like I said, got whatever? Do whatever. Now is the time.

Also, while it’s still snowy weather, do some fun things that you can do with anyone. Snowboarding, skiing, tubing (my favorite) or whatever you can do in snowy weather. Make it fun before the season nearly all people hate, the season that’s full of the most allergy-prone things, namely spring.

Of course, you can do whatever you want to do. I’m just offering suggestions that could make the start of the new year really fun. But if you want to stick with the crazy family traditions, go for it. See you in whatever comes in 2025, my fellow readers, because you know, as the famous saying says, “One thing leads to another.”
