Mayor Steve Noble will hear from residents of Uptown and Midtown Kingston this spring as he holds public meetings in Wards 2, 3 and 4. The meetings, which will be co-hosted by the aldermen of each ward, will offer Kingstonians a chance to bring their concerns directly to the city’s chief executive.

Noble has made the monthly meetings with residents of each of Kingston’s nine wards a staple of his third term as mayor and has credited the forums with informing decisions on issues like traffic, public safety and infrastructure. For example, Noble has said that recent efforts to step up traffic enforcement, including deployment of a KPD detail dedicated to the task and a plan to install speed cameras in all city school zones, were directly influenced by input from the ward meetings where unsafe driving emerged as a major concern citywide. This year’s round of meetings is scheduled to kick off on March 10 in the First Ward.

“I am looking forward to visiting each ward again this year to hear concerns directly from residents in the community,” said Noble in an email announcing the meetings. “These meetings open lines of communication, and we hope to increase transparency into local government. I encourage folks in each ward to come out and let us know what’s going on in their neighborhoods.”

The schedule of meetings in the coming months is as follows:

Ward 2 with Alderman Michael Tierney: Monday, April 14, 5:30 p.m. St John's Episcopal Church, 207 Albany Ave.
Ward 3 with Alderman Rennie Scott-Childress: Monday, May 19, 5:30 p.m. at Forsyth Park Pavilion, Lucas Avenue.
Ward 4 with Alderwoman Jeanne Edward: Monday, June 16, 5:30 p.m. Clinton Avenue Methodist Church, 122 Clinton Ave.
